How much do karate lessons usually cost?
also, can you start taking karate when you are 18? would you be in a class with kids, or do they have adult karate classes?
It depends on the Dojo and the area of the country your in. If you go to a Dojo with a Japanese instructor then you will pay more but it's usually worth it. What you don't want to do is to take Karate form a coockie cuttter club or an "American Karate" club. The tradition behind Karate needs to be there. Don't go to a club thats not affiliated with a club or style in Japan. If they can't affiliate themselves with a Japanese club then they are not teaching Karate.
Karate lessons could cost anywhere from $50 to $150 a month. I think $75-$90 is reasonable. Don't go to a place that makes you sign up for a year in advance or promises you a black belt in less then three years.
Go and look at some clubs and pick the most interesting one.
